This module is annually updated on an academic year basis and access to the module is included within your centre membership to The Exams Office

The content within this module, comprising two units, complements centre-based induction training and provides the essential knowledge and understanding invigilators need before undertaking invigilation duties for examinations and assessments

SAFEGUARDING: TRAINING FOR INVIGILATORS

The content for this training has been devised from the DfE’s Keeping children safe in education 2026 guidance which requires ‘all staff, including temporary staff such as those supervising exams, read Part 1 of the latest version of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)‘.

This guidance sets out the legal duties that schools and colleges must comply with to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people under the age of 18.

It applies to all schools and colleges, and is intended for:

  • headteachers, teachers and school staff
  • governing bodies, proprietors and management committees

All staff must:

  • read ‘Keeping children safe in education 2026: part one’ in full
  • follow their school’s or college’s safeguarding policies and procedures
